Facebook Timeline lands on the iPhone

Facebook has updated its iOS application, introducing the newly introduced Timeline profile interface to the Apple platform. The social giant has released an update of its app for the iPhone allowing it to have a taste of the latest and greatest it has to offer.

Right now Timeline isn’t available to the other major iDevice – the iPad, but Facebook says it’s “coming soon”. Still, iPad users will get a few extra features with the new update.

For example, the new update brings Friends list, which is available on all iOS devices. A feature best known from the desktop Facebook UI, Friends Lists let you manage the information you share with your different circles of friends.
The photo management has also been improved with better speed, comments and upload systems. Finally, the iOS Facebook also got Subscriptions, letting you follow specific actions of your contacts.

With the new update you will be able to manage a much larger part of your Facebook profile from your iDevice, so you won’t need to use your computer as often as before. Now start those downloads and don’t forget to drop us a line in the comments section, mentioning how do you find the updated app.

Top 10 Best Apps for Your Brand - New iPhone 4S

If you are a huge Apple fan, there's a big chance that you are one of the many hopefuls who lined up in an Apple Store in order to get the Cupertino giant's latest and greatest smartphone. And now that you got your new iPhone 4S, one of first thing that got into your mind is which apps should you install first.

Top iPhone 4S Apps

The iTunes App Store houses over 500,000 apps as of this writing, so suffice to say, finding the most essential apps isn't going to be a walk in the park. Well, we are here once again to lend you a bit of a helping hand. We will be recommending you the top ten best apps that we think iPhone 4S owners shouldn't do without. These are the Top 10 Best Apps for Your Brand-New iPhone 4S.

Evernote

Evernote App Icon
This app is very popular and for good reason. If you are going to have just one note-taking app on your iPhone 4S, then make it this one. And now with the availability of iOS 5, the developers are hard at work to make the app a bug and crash free experience. This app basically lets you create text, audio and photo notes and it gives you the ability to synchronize those notes to your Mac, PC and web. It is free and packed to a brim, what more can you ask for?

Instapaper

Instapaper App Icon
If you love reading web pages containing articles, news entries and the likes on your iPhone 4S, then this is the app for you. Instapaper improves the readability of web pages by stripping them of all that crap and leaves only the text. This app also gives the user the ability to save long articles or blog posts so that it can be read at a later time. Everything that you download can also be read offline.
Instapaper App
Download Instapaper from the iTunes App Store for $4.99.

Instagram

Instagram Icon
Another app that is overwhelmingly popular (Hello, 11 million users!). Well it is a photography app that lets you take a photo and lets you edit them by adding fancy filters. And then, you can proceed to share your little masterpiece of a photo to the usual social media services such as Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, Tumblr and so on. If you consider yourself a shutterbug, then you simply can't go wrong with Instagram. And for the price of nothing, you get one of the best apps from the iTunes App Store.

Tiny Wings

Tiny Wings App Icon
Well here's another bird themed game for your iPhone 4S (as if you don't have Angry Birds on your phone already). Tiny Wings is simply one of the best examples on how to make a game for mobile devices. It has great, colorful graphics, simple and easy to learn game mechanics, flawless touch controls and most of all, unbelievably addictive. Download and play this game and watch those hours fly away.

Infinity Blade II

Infinity Blade 2 Icon
Now let's put that new iPhone 4S hardware into the test, shall we? It is safe to say that
Infinity Blade 2
is one of the best, if not the best looking game available for the iOS. Feast your eyes on graphics that could easily rival full sized home console games. The original is already one of the best looking games in the App Store, and the sequel outclasses it in every way. More weapons and armors, more bosses, more deadly arenas, it is basically a sequel done right.
Infinity Blade II App
Download Infinity Blade II from the iTunes App Store for $6.99.

Dropbox

Dropbox Icon
Another must have app if you want to take your files wherever you want to go. Dropbox basically gives you the ability to store your files in the cloud and sync them across multiple machines such as your desktop PC and laptops. And now with this app, you can add your iPhone 4S to the mix as well. There are other apps with the same functionality but the fact that it is free and very easy to use, Dropbox certainly has the upper hand.

Tweetbot

Tweetbot Icon
As we have previously reported, the official Twitter app has received quite an overhaul recently. But in our opinion, it still can't beat some of the available alternatives. And one such alternative is Tweetbot. With this app, you have access to great features such as multiple timelines, smart gestures, support for native push notifications, customizable navigations and more. One of the most often cited advantages of Tweetbot over the official app is its excellent user interface. The user reviews says it all.

Download Tweetbot from the iTunes App Store for $0.99.

Tango

Tango Icon
When it comes to video calls, one would normally cite Skype as their app of choice. But Skype simply has way too many problems at this time. So we have sought an alternative and found Tango. This app allows you to make free voice and video calls over WiFi and 3G. Just make sure that the other user has Tango installed and you are good to go. It is simply a no-frills video call app. There is no log-in and passwords and you can make an account in a matter of seconds. As far as VoIP calls go, it is a pretty good alternative to Skype.
Tango App
Download Tango from the iTunes App Store for FREE.

Facebook

Facebook App Icon
If you have a Facebook account (who doesn't?), then it goes without saying that you will be needing this app. Let us set the record straight. The official Facebook app isn't exactly the best app out there, it has its share of (many) problems and the developers have a knack to make unnecessary changes and add features that only makes the experience worse. But still, using the app is still a whole lot better than using the un-optimized web interface.
Facebook App
Download Facebook app from the iTunes App Store for FREE.

Dolphin Browser

Dolphin Browser Icon
For the most basic uses, iOS's stock browser Safari does quite okay. But it is seriously lacking when it comes to features. Probably one of the most popular browser for Android,
Dolphin Browser
has made its way into the iOS a couple of months ago. And by that, iOS users are given probably one of the best web browser app in the App Store. You have awesome features like tabbed browsing, Webzine, gestures, one-click share, speed dial and more. We can safely say that we have found the perfect replacement for Safari and it has been our default browser since then.

Download Dolphin Browser from the iTunes App Store for FREE.
And there you have it, ten apps that we highly recommend to iPhone 4S users. This top ten is by no means the definitive list of best apps from the App Store, take it as a good place to start your app collection.

Any app which you think should be on the list? Let us know in the comments below!

Facebook Timeline now globally available..!

Facebook announced its Timeline feature back in September at the f8 conference and today it’s ready and available for everyone (globally) to enable, try out under cover and, finally, publish to Facebook contacts.

Timeline replaces your profile page with a reworked new one, focused on your entire Facebook activity divided into years starting with your first ever birthday.
You can check out who you’ve friended, what pages you’ve liked, the content you’ve posted for the time you’ve been on Facebook including your activity in the present moment. It’s a neat feature by any means and brings a certain order to your social activity through the months and years.

Facebook allows for a 7 day review period so you can try out Timeline, get used to it and get some things you want to keep private out of the way. When you’re done just publish, so all your contacts will be able to see it.

Many people wouldn’t be so fond of the new look, but unless you’re thinking of hanging up the social towel you’re going to get Timeline – it’s inevitable.

Facebook have put up a dedicated page to introduce the Timeline feature. You can get it by selecting Get Timeline and the bottom of the page – it simple and requires just a couple of clicks.

G-Pad Brings Google+ to iPad

Most of the social networking sites are late to release the app when it comes to tablets, especially iPad. We have already seen how long it took for Facebook to release the iPad version. Google also follows the same path, they have released the Google+ app for iPhone and Android while the iPad version is still not released, although the iPhone version works with iPad.

G-Pad is a simple app for iPad users which brings in Google+ for iPad users and the app is created by the same developer who has created MyPad (a popular app for Facebook). The app although looks pretty good, is only a web version of Google+ bundled into an app.

The application looks very similar to the iPad version of Twitter and comes with menus on the sidebar. Features of G-Pad;

Quick Links (Stream, Circles,Gmail, Photos, Timeline, Profile & more!)
Beautiful Photo Galleries
Connect to Twitter and view Timeline, DM, Mentions & more (via + button)
Swipe- based navigation
Interactive Video Player
Games with Friends – Poker, Tiny Zoo, Tiny Chef, Mob Empire & more!
Trending iPad Apps
Portrait & Landscape modes
Pull-Down to Refresh

Although this app doesn’t use the Google+ API, we are use new apps would come in future for Google+ on iPad and for the time being G-Pad works well.
