iPhone 4S Price in India

     iPhone 4S coming is to India, which is really a great news for all fans waiting for this device. Airtel and Aircel is planning to bring the device to India and launch it on 25th November. But there was uncertainity about the pricing of it. There were rumors that the higher end model price could touch almost 50K INR which is on a higher side. But now even before the release, Airtel has confirmed the prices of iPhone 4S in India.

The iPhone 4S is available in both white and black and the prices are as follows;
  • iPhone 4S 16GB version- 44500 INR
  • iPhone 4S 32GB version- 50900 INR
At this price, the phone not affordable for many and seriously disappointing for all iPhone Fans in India. We too think the prices are too high and not worth the investment. There are also reports that the iPhone 4 refurbished version would be released in India for 22000 (approx). So are you getting the iPhone 4S ?

Aircel launching the iPhone 4S in India on Nov 25th

         Aircel has now announced a date for it’s iPhone 4S launch. The operator just shared on it’s Facebook page that it is launching the iPhone 4S in India on Nov 25th. Yesterday Aircel and Airtel announced they are launching the iPhone 4S in India soon.



   We guess Aircel (and Airtel) might announce their pricing ( and weird money back plans ) on the 25th. We don’t have any details about the pricing but should have some info soon. The iPhone 4S packs a Dual Core CPU , 8MP Camera with Full HD video recording and the interesting virtual assistant Siri.

Looks wise its almost same as the previous iPhone – the iPhone 4S . The device runs on iOS 5 which is the latest operating system for iPhone , iPad and ipod Touch.

Pre-booking for iPhone 4S starts on Nov 18th according to Aircel.

India Has 346 Million Mobile Internet Subscribers, Airtel Leads

    According to the latest report by telecom watchdog Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), India has 346.67 million active Mobile Internet Subscribers (GPRS/2G/3G/CDMA-Data) as on June 2011.

India has total 851.70 million wireless/mobile (GSM + CDMA) subscribers at the end of Jun-11 and 40.70% of total wireless subscribers base are capable of Accessing GPRS (2G/3G) Data Services/CDMA Internet at the end of June, 2011.

India’s largest mobile service provider Bharti Airtel has maintained pole position among Indian mobile operators with 131.38 million active data subscribers (2G/3G). While National Telecom Backbone and state run telecom operator Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) comes in second with 69.27 million and Vodafone has 3rd position with 63.69 million mobile Internet subscribers.

Gmail Gets a New Look

            Google has just announced that that Gmail will finally get the new look which was previewed few months back. The preview version was available as a theme, but now Google will roll out the new look across all accounts. There are many new features added to the new look including smarter navigation, conversation view and also new themes. If you what you get the new look click on the Switch to the new look in the bottom-right of Gmail. and this will be available in the coming days.

New Features available:

1. Better Conversation view: The conversation view was one feature available in Gmail for long time now and with the new design it has further improved. The new conversation view is much more simpler, readable and less cluttered.

2. Customizable screen size: We all know that Gmail automatically changes the width and layout based on screen size, but with the new version you can select the screen size, if you want elements to be closer, you can choose the dense view.

4. Smarter Navigation: The sidebar elements are now resizable and can be set based on your preferences. For example, you can increase or decrease the height of chat box and labels available on Gmail.

Google+ Official Notifications Extension for Google Chrome

                Google has been trying to give a push to the social networking tool with new features like private message. Now Google has released the official notification extension for Google Chrome. With the extension installed, you can view all the account notifications without having to open Google+.



You can click on the notification button available on the toolbar. The toolbar shows the count of unread notification available. Although this feature is available across all Google apps using the new Google toolbar, this is helpful only for people using Google Crome. Notifications include updates on who added you on Google+ and who added a comment or +1 to one of your posts or a post you commented on.


Clicking on any notification will show you the post just like the way it shows in Google+ and clicking on any link opens the post in Google+.

Send a Direct Message in Google+

Recently we had written about Google+ creative kit tool which allows users to add filters and effects to your photos and do basic editing. Now Google+ has enabled the option to send a direct message to any person. Although this feature was previously available in the form of sending an update to one person, now it has moved to a position below the user profile.



You can see a new button “Send a Message”available below profiles and clicking on them will open a pop up where you can share the update or message with the particular user.


This option does not add any new feature, but makes it easy to send a message to any person.

Vodafone launches Mobile Application Store in India

             Vodafone has launched Vodafone Mobile Application Store, Powered by Appia that has vast selection of over 10,000 free and paid applications for different mobile platforms such as Android, Java, Symbian and Blackberry. It shows Featured, Popular and New Apps. The popular App categories includes games, entertainment, social networking and local culture. There are also Apps from the local providers, including Hungama, India Games and Nazara, Spice, and Vodafone-branded apps like Portfolio Tracker, Vodafone TV, and Chhota Comics. You can also search for the apps manually.

Vodafone customers can sms <VStore> or <Apps> to 111 (toll-free) from their GPRS-enabled handsets and click on the URL in the response message to enter the app store. They can also log-in to live.vodafone.in from the mobile and click the Vstore link on the Vodafone Live homepage. TRAI Raises SMS Limit To 200 SMS Per Day Per SIM

         Now, there seems to be good news for all the SMS fans or Heavy SMS Users! Indian Telecom regulator Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) today increased the limit of One hundred SMS (100 SMS) per day per SIM to Two hundred SMS (200 SMS) per day per SIM for prepaid users.

TRAI also doubles the SMS limits/caps for Postpaid mobile service users from 3000 SMS per month to 6000 SMS per month per SIM.

TRAI said that it has received representations from some of the service providers and consumers to increase the limit of 100 SMS per day per SIM. The Authority has considered these representations and decided to increase the limit of one hundred SMS per day per SIM to two hundred SMS per day per SIM.The new SMS cap of 200 SMSes per SIM per day for Prepaid and 6000 SMSes per SIM per month on Postpaid will be effective from today i.e. 1st November 2011.

Prepaid : 200 SMS Per Day Per SIM (existing 100 SMS/Day)
