HCL launches New Tablet running Android 4.0 for Rs.7,999

HCL has launched HCL ME U1 tablet that runs on Android 4.0.3 (Ice Cream Sandwich). It has 7-inch (800 x 480 pixels) capacitive touch screen display and has a 1GHz processor. It has 0.3MP front facing camera, 512MB RAM, 4GB internal memory that is expandable up to 32GB. They have also launched MyEduTab, educational tablets for students in schools and colleges with similar features.

The HCL ME U1 has 17 Pre Loaded Applications covering jobs, games, social networking, music and more apps on the ME App Store and Goodies worth Rs. 3,000 including offers on Hungama (free unlimited downloads for three months), Cleartrip.com (Discounts on Air Tickets), and Think Free Office.


The MyEduTab will enable students, teachers & parents to connect, collaborate and share information as well as content over the Cloud.The MyEduTab – Higher Education(HE) comes with multimedia content on technical and professional skills, assessments and Apps.

The HCL ME U1 tablet is priced at Rs. 7,999. The MyEduTab– K12 version is priced at Rs. 11,499 and comes with memory card, free educational applications and NCERT books. The MyEduTab – Higher Education(HE) version priced at Rs. 9, 999.

Both the tablets will be available in stores and for educational institutes in Delhi and across the country from April 2012.
